One of KPMG’s client engagements resulted in an intelligent software tool for fraud detection of digital payments. The tool helps banks to optimize their fraud detection through machine learning. The initial design of the software was too difficult to understand for bank employees without a data scientist background, so it was not used. We re-designed the user experience to make the tool accessible to everybody working with fraud detection.
My role in this project was to conduct UX research, then re-design and test the application based on user feedback. Alongside my role as a UX designer in this project, I managed the project and its developers while the project lead was on a one-month leave. Finally, I have presented this tool to multiple large banks and designed the corresponding communication package.
